For High School, the school follows the US Common Core and College Board AP curriculum and also offers the UK IGCSE and A-Level UK programs.Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physics Teacher to join our dynamic faculty at [International School] located in China. As a Physics Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in physics to students at the secondary level. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in an international setting, fostering cross-cultural learning experiences and academic excellence.Key Responsibilities: * Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous physics curriculum for secondary students, aligned with international standards and the school's educational objectives.
- Create innovative lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Utilize various teaching methodologies, including hands-on experiments, demonstrations, multimedia resources, and interactive activities to enhance student understanding and critical thinking skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, mutual respect, and academic growth.
- Employ effective classroom management techniques to promote a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic progress, assignments, and assessments, and communicate with parents/guardians regarding student performance and achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the science department and across disciplines to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and enhance the overall educational experience.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events to contribute to the school community and stay informed about best practices in education.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and reflective practice to continually improve teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Support the school's extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, and field trips, to enrich the student experience beyond the classroom.
- Teaching certification/license in Physics or Secondary Education from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
- Profound knowledge of physics concepts, principles, and applications across various branches, including mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, optics, and modern physics.
- Familiarity with international curricula such as IB (International Baccalaureate), IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), or AP (Advanced Placement) Physics.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Cross-cultural competence and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
