We are looking for a Head of Art for a bilingual school based in Shanghai. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2024.About the schoolA bilingual school, which was founded five years ago, is situated in the Huangpu and Pudong district of Shanghai. It provides bilingual teaching to students from first grade to the 12th grade of elementary, middle, and high school. The school follows the Chinese national curriculum and has elements from the British IGCSE and A-level curriculums to meet the academic needs of its students.About the roleThe head of the art department is responsible for leading and managing the art department in secondary education, ensuring the delivery of high-quality art education to students. This role involves curriculum development, staff management, budgeting, and fostering an environment that encourages scientific inquiry and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education, leadership experience, and a passion for fostering a love of art among students.

Provide strategic leadership for the art department, aligning with educational goals
Oversee science curriculum development, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices
Lead, manage, and mentor staff, focusing on professional development and a collaborative environment
Manage the budget and laboratory resources efficiently
Monitor student progress, implementing strategies for success
Engage with the community to promote science education and build partnerships
Support research and innovative teaching practices, staying informed on educational trends
Ensure compliance with regulations and contribute to accreditation and quality assurance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in art, art education, or a related field
Valid teaching certification/license
Experience in teaching art, with a proven track record of excellence
Prior leadership or management experience in an educational setting is highly desirable

Salary and benefits

Monthly salary of 28,000 to 34,000 RMB before tax commensurate with experience and qualifications
Monthly housing allowance of 12,000 RMB
