The State Street Investment Management - Global Head of Data, Analytics & AI Services (GHDAAIS) is seeking to hire a Principal Platform Engineer, Assistant Vice President at Hangzhou office. This role will play an important role in leading the solution delivery of AI technology services provided to the Global Advisors business at State Street. The role will be a key player in the DAAIS organization for AI services supporting the COO’s organizational delivery of the AI platforms in a federated model to Global Advisors, State Street, and our clients. The role will function as the platform engineering specialist and infrastructure solution lead for AI related services working closely with the State Street affiliates, Global Technology Services (GTS) and other third-party vendors used within the SSGA ecosystem globally. The role and the team will provide platform architectural solution to the COO’s delivery of technology platforms and services according to the GTS architectural standards and operate under a federated operating model to deliver against a target end state AI ecosystem blueprint. In addition, the role needs to adopt GTS platform engineering related technology, risk, security, and data governance standards.This is a principal platform engineering role for candidate who has very strong hands-on platform solution design and development experience, as well as strong team collaboration skills and leadership. The candidate should have rich experience for enterprise platform development. The candidate has 5+ years of experience in asset management. This is someone who also has demonstrable leadership in developing service-oriented solution, has delivered enterprise platform and/or commercialized software product. The candidate has excellent technical and problem-solving skills, someone with creativity and self-motivation to deliver on mission critical projects with tight timelines and competing priorities.Responsibilities:

Lead a small agile team to deliver highly effective platform solution to meet our fast-changing business and client needs, collaborate with global teams to execute on global projects and keep improving platform solution and technology best practices.
Adopt various modern AI tools to design and develop platform solution and disrupt traditional software development approach and improve productivity.
Develop, train, and mentor junior platform engineers, ensure their continuous growth and development, and foster a high-performance team culture.
Responsible for platform infrastructure design, coding, unit test, and integration.
Support quality assurance test, user acceptance test, and bug fixes.
Design and implement robust continuous integration and continuous deployment solution.
Configure development infrastructure environment and manage software releases.
Support production issue and implement on-going enhancements

Skills and Qualifications:

Master’s degree required in computer science or in related fields.
5+ years of experience in infrastructure as code programming using Terraform in public cloud environment like Azure or AWS and familiar with foundational AI and GenAI/LLM, Azure Active Directory based service principals, and managed identities provision automation.
8+ years of public cloud and/or private cloud software engineering, DevOps, MLOps experience.
8+ years of modern containerized, object-oriented or script programming experience like Python, Java, Shell and etc.
5+ years of experience in microservice architecture and implementation based on main-stream technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Spring Cloud, gRPC/thrift, etc.
Familiar with structured and unstructured data storage and management systems like Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, and various vectorized databases.
Familiar with source code management e.g. GitHub and CI/CD best practices to support concurrent development and release for multiple global teams.
Highly self-motivated with can-do attitude and willing to learn new things.

Any of the following is highly desirable:

Prior enterprise level high performing computing and/or real time system experience.

Platform engineering experience in medium or large size asset management company.
Prior GenAI/LLM, Azure ML, Amazon Web Service (AWS) or alike experience
Data Science and Machine Learning Frameworks (LLMs like ChatGPT/Llama/Mistral/Claude, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Apache Spark / MLlib, etc.)
