Job Description:Job Purpose.To implement the daily production in the work areas of the Crude MDI plant, within the quality requirements and in accordance with plant operating manual and meeting environmental, health and safety requirements.Dimensions.Responsible to the Shift Supervisor for all shift production issues and receives the operational instructions from senior technician.Required Duties Or Accountabilities.1. Check and steer the processes in the relevant work areas by complying and using process regulations, safety regulations, instructions of the senior technician or Shift Supervisor, own perception as well as the need for consistency between the work areas on the Crude MDI plant and related plants.2. Conduct site patrols on regular basis and ensure site facilities running within process requirements.3. Assist with senior technician in checking the progress of the process and ensure the respect of safety on the plant, such as the compliance to Plant regulations by maintenance fitters and personnel of third parties, including the implementation of the Permit To Work system. During maintenance activities provide support to the maintenance department on Plant EHS issues.4. Under the instructions of the senior technician, to intervene during process deviations, trace and remedy plant upsets and deviations. In extreme cases rapidly correct plant set points in response to dangerous indications in the control room data, and correct the dangerous behavior of other operators. To initiate/propose the idea of plant operation improvement based on collection of operation experience.5. Prepare for and implement the start-up and shutdown of the Crude MDI plant.6. To check /test plant process systems and equipment after maintenance or repair for safety and operability.7. Carry out small plant maintenance and repair activities, to change or remedy blockages, removal of blanking plates and leakage. To assist and to recommend the implementation of heavier repair or maintenance except during the day shift and in shutdown periods, including sometimes the use of pressurized air equipment.8. Apply emergency shut-down procedures in emergencies and assist in the response to emergencies and their consequences.9. Loading and/or unloading of tankers and containers10. Carry out gas and oxygen measurements and monitoring to release workspaces for maintenance and repair.11. Pay attention and work closely on the checking/testing of safety of equipment before and after maintenance and repairs. Be alert to safety issues associated with toxic and flammable substances, and take corrective actions when they are detected.12. Takes part in consultation between management and staff.Special Features.1. Carries out manual plant operations and minor repairs on the plant.2. Climb by means of stairways and cat ladders. Checks and repairs equipment and instruments in difficult and restricted places. Taxing of eye and back muscles due to constant checking of recorders and display devices3. Exposed to occasional fumes, and works with breathing apparatus and other personal protective equipment.Chances of lesions, cuts, fall of trips. Use of ladders and steps and contact with hot installation parts, toxic, aggressive and explosive chemicals.Job Requirements. (Knowledge, Skills, Experience, etc.)1. Graduate of a Chinese Technical school, with an equivalent of over five years operational experience in chemical plants, preferably in a Joint Venture.2. Knowledge of the processes and of the activities of the production process, and energy usage.3. Basic knowledge of production techniques including problem solving and fault finding.4. Knowledge of raw materials, additives, end products and their applications.5. Basic knowledge of modern instrumentation and Distributed Control Systems6. Knowledge of safety, environment, health and quality regulations.7. Basic knowledge of the emergency response plan.8. Knowledge of the organization.9.
