- Lead the development of cutting-edge oral delivery systems tailored for peptide therapeutics including but not limited to permeation enhancers, enteric coatings, and novel formulations to address unique challenges
- Design strategies to overcome structural limitations of complex peptides, including those with non-standard amino acids and non-disulfide bond linkers
- Design and execute comprehensive formulation screening protocols, stability studies (assessing parameters like serum half-life, cleavage site resistance, and solubility), and process scale-up workflows. Integrate in vitro permeability models and in vivo PK/PD data to validate formulation performance, ensuring alignment with preclinical and clinical development milestones.
- Develop innovative oral peptide formulation platforms by leveraging AI-driven design tools and multi-modal data analysis-collaborating with the company's AI team
- Collaborate cross-functionally with pharmacology, DMPK, AI, and chemistry teams to optimize formulation-PK/PD relationships.
- Work closely with AI teams to refine in silico models for oral bioavailability prediction, and partner with medicinal chemistry teams to align formulation design with peptide structural features (e.g., cyclic scaffolds, non-standard amino acids) to enhance drug-like properties.
- Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related field, with a proven focus on peptide delivery systems.
- Years of industrial experience in oral peptide formulation development, with deep familiarity with regulatory guidelines (FDA/EMA/NMPA) for peptide therapeutics.
- Expertise in core oral peptide technologies, including permeation enhancement, enteric coating technologies, stability optimization in SGF/SIF environments, and in vitro/in vivo models for assessing permeability and bioavailability. Experience with AI-assisted formulation design (e.g., multi-modal LLM, machine learning-driven optimization) is a strong advantage.
- Track record of publications or patents in peptide delivery, particularly in oral bioavailability enhancement for complex peptides. Demonstrated experience in translating formulation research into preclinical development, with a focus on overcoming key challenges like enzymatic degradation and poor membrane penetration.
