Windows Driver Field Application Engineer will provide expert technical support helping our customers successfully integrate our audio products into PC and other products by developing application-base embedded software for our audio solutions; assisting customer engineers and leading consumer electronics companies to integrate Cirrus Logic solutions into customer systems. The successful candidate should be willing to provide onsite support, and travel to customer sites.The position will play a key role in getting design wins. \nResponsibilities
  • Ÿ Host driver integration of Cirrus CODEC, smart amplifier, and other audio IC products into Windows-based consumer applications (e.g. PC)
  • Ÿ Lead the triage and debug of Windows system integration issues on customer PC hardware platforms, working with peers and third parties
  • Ÿ Act as the primary technical support contact for major customers on software-related issues, and lead onsite visits as needed
  • Ÿ Develop tools and scripts for integration unit testing and stress testing
  • Ÿ Define and implement various use-case profiles into host driver platforms
  • Ÿ Create technical reports for customers, and document project issues for Cirrus HQ in English
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ÿ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or above; a Master's degree is preferred
  • Ÿ Minimum 10 years of Windows driver support experience for IC devices, including at least 3 years of hands-on Windows driver development and maintenance experience; audio domain knowledge is a strong plus
  • Ÿ Extensive project experience with Windows driver integration, PC system bring-up, and a solid understanding of ACPI
  • Ÿ In-depth understanding of Intel and AMD platforms; capable of debugging system-level issues under pressure on customer PC products, and leading technical discussions with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Ÿ Extensive experience in C software development
  • Ÿ Ability to read and understand basic audio circuit schematics
  • Ÿ Ability to use standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators
  • Ÿ Good verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical topics in live discussions
  • Ÿ Analytical, thorough, resourceful, and detail-oriented
