- Strongly represent BASF's Technical Expertise and BIG Technical Site Service in project teams, workshops and on construction site, consult and/ or perform training on anti-corrosion and corrosion prevention standards, specification, and guidelines (e.g. for CUI) and support the implementation of risk-assessment methods, anti-corrosion measures, inspection and testing schemes etc. and support reviewing suppliers' and/or contractors' quality documents in regards of material topics.
- Develop of relative coating specifications for selection of proper coating system, proper fabrication methods on coating process, effective quality control on fabrication process, etc.
- Support on filed walk down and provide holistic evaluation of technical condition of plants and its components in corrosive atmosphere condition service to ensure integrity and tightness and support procuring replacement goods and define repair concepts and/or remedial measures (if necessary).
- Evaluate of possible coating degradation mechanisms on basis of the plant operation parameters and develop risk-based inspection strategies incl. definition of in-service periods based on technical condition and atmosphere condition of plants.
- Consult on coating system activities in a diverse variety for different fields, incl. shop and construction locations, and quality defects evaluation, incl. pretreatment surface condition, the environment at the time of painting, the paint itself, or the application methods.
- Support “Inspection Team” and analyze, review and verify material related inspection reports, develop recommendations for repair, upgrade and/ or modification solutions regarding inspected chemical equipment and provide technical support for the follow-up, communicate verbally and/or in written to related persons (e.g. project team, supplier, contractor) and follow up the rectification of these deviations.
- Support BIG plant operation teams (e.g. Maintenance, Operation, Asset Management) during TAR for material and corrosion related inspections, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, consult for equipment design including upgrade and/or modification solutions and provide technical support for the follow-up.
- Support “Inspection” Team for BIG site inspection management system (site inspection management database and documentation/ storage system) and provide all relevant information and documentation such as material and corrosion data/ reports, inspection and test records, project and OEM files.Requirements：- Bachelor's degree in surface treatment, materials engineering, corrosion engineering or equivalent disciplines. Master's degree will be an advantage.
- At least 9 years total work experience with minimum 6 years' experience in materials and corrosion engineering.
- Solid knowledge and experience about coating system (painting, insulation, fireproofing, galvanizing) their fabrication methods, analyzing methods, materials and corrosion properties and failure case analysis. Solid knowledge of corrosion and anti-corrosion measures and experience in corrosion engineering in/for the chemical industry. Solid knowledge about inspection and testing methods (environment condition test, surface preparation, salt test, film thickness measurement, curing test, adhesion test, insulation installation quality check.)
- Good knowledge of Chinese and international engineering codes and standards (e.g. GB, AWS, ASME, ASTM, EN) and anti-corrosion and corrosion prevention standards such as ISO, NACE
- Good knowledge of heat treatment for different coating system at different corrosive atmosphere condition, e.g., C5, CX.
- Basic knowledge of different nondestructive testing (NDT) methods and their application.
- Basic knowledge about fabrication process, engineering and project management to estimate, monitor and control project costs and schedule.
- Basic knowledge of different kinds of chemical components, pressure vessel, heat exchanger, pressure pipe, valves, E&I, steel structure, cable, etc.
- Basic knowledge of quality management systems, QA/QC systems and of QA/QC philosophy.
- Solid experience of cross-discipline communication and interface management.
- Solid skills of Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) .
- Solid skills of spoken & written technical English are essential.
