Personal Attributes, Education & Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant engineering or technology discipline i.e., MSc, BEng, BSc (Hons) or similar. Professional Engineer Chartered status registered with recognized National institute is advantageous.
  • Experience and knowledge associated with structural engineering design, onshore fabrication, offshore installation, brownfield construction, hook-up and commissioning of subsea and topsides structures and systems.
  • Familiar with all international standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Be able to work independently with little supervision but strong sense of responsibility
  • A good command of English both verbal and written.
  • A good command of verbal Mandarin with reading being an advantage.
Position Recommended Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 20 years of work experience of which at least 15 years in oil and gas. Experience in a similar role with an Oil and gas Operator.
  • Experience in design for large FEED and EPCIC projects including Brownfield construction and hook-up.
  • Familiarity with offshore engineering, site fabrication and construction.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and relocate to work sites including offshore.
  • Working experience in Southeast Asia and China is an advantage.
Position Role and Responsibilities
  • Act as Company lead and focal point for all design and technical matters associated with EPCIC structural design engineering for jacket platform, topsides brownfield modifications, and subsea structures to deliver a safe and robust design.
  • Ensure EPCIC contractor's technical compliance, accuracy, quality and execution of all aspects of offshore structures design, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation and testing. This will cover both installation and in-place analysis.
  • Monitoring the Engineering Contractor's structural design specifications/ integration activities and progress during the Design Phase.
  • Respond to technical queries, deviation & exception to specifications, codes and standards, undertake and/or participate in studies, and liaison with contractor and equipment vendors.
  • Interface and coordinate within the Company's project management team and other discipline engineers on matters relating to engineering design, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation, brownfield construction and hook-up & commissioning and support the performance management of EPCIC Contractors.
  • Liaise with Company's quality, pre-commissioning/commissioning and start-up teams and assist in the review of work and transportation and installation procedures, evaluation and resolution of technical issues, active participation in review workshops and inspection to ensure the work is carried out safely and with the minimum interruption.
  • Ensure that all legislative requirements relating to offshore facilities in Myanmar are complied with in respect to the above and are correctly implemented.
  • Provide and support Company interface to the legislative bodies (e.g., Certifying bodies) with respect to the design and safety issues.
  • Provide layout input into HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SILs and other safety related analysis and documentation.
  • Provide Site support during Fabrication phase in regard to follow-on engineering, and addressing of site queries.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and other professional development activities in support of discipline engineering staff.
HSE
  • Responsible for own safety and the protection of others.
  • Quality/ HSE Focus and team oriented.
  • All works conducted will be done so in a safe manner utilizing all safety equipment/ procedures and PPE necessary to complete the specific work.
  • Play active role in all HSE related areas.
Other Skills
  • The development of all relevant procedures and guidelines.
  • Complete necessary documentation as and when requested.
  • Review and comment on EPCIC contractors documents.
  • Review and comment on Package/Third Party Vendor documents.
