- General supervision of shift operation, all team members under your control and the allocation of work and distribution of the workforce in accordance with instructions from the Property Manager.
- Liaise with the Engineer in the department preventative maintenance program and supervise the implementation during your duty.
- Inspect and control the efficiency of all plants, associated systems and equipment.
- Recommend change of equipment or procedures to achieve the highest possible savings on operation and energy cost.
- Schedule preventive maintenance for rooms.
- Supervise and coordinate the installation, renovation and modifications for guestrooms.
- Follow up on all repair and maintenance work done by the Engineering department according to the check list and trouble report.
- General supervision of all Property Agents under your control and the allocation of work and distribution of the workforce in accordance with instruction from the Property Manager.
- Schedule repair and preventative maintenance for all equipment under your supervision.
- Check on all equipment and inventory records every month.
- Keep the A/V plant room clean and tidy.
- Follow up on all security rules and regulations, conducting regular safety checks.
- Take necessary measures to any obscuration of safety, reporting to the Property Manager and Assistant Security Manager to check results and improvements.
- Manage the daily work of Fire Control Officers, check and evaluate their performances, work out their work schedules.
- Report and remove any potential obscuration of accident or fire to the Management.
- Assist the Property Manager to organize fire prevention training to team members and train the hotel Voluntary Fire Brigade members.
- Familiar with checking hotel fire equipment and fire evacuation passages.
- Ensure prompt reporting of maintenance issues to the department by Property Agents as they record them during their patrols.
- Familiar with each departments’ work procedures, security knowledge, emergency procedures, ensuring each position’s professional knowledge and work standards.
- Conduct random inspection of the hotel to ensure security practices are being followed, fire exits are not blocked, equipment is not obstructing fire hose reel doors, clearance between stacked goods and sprinkler heads is sufficient.
- Be familiar with current first aid and fire emergency procedures.
- Maintain a logbook of all occurrence during your watch.
- Ensure a smooth hand-over to the next shift team member and discuss actions to be taken with respect to uncompleted work and any special attention required.
- Make inspections of all areas of the building and grounds to ensure safety operation, supervise works in progress and notify on defects to be corrected.
- Supervise the section’s daily work, equipment’s running, repair order, carrying out maintenance work on time with high quality.
- Assist in coordinating the work of contractors on scheduled jobs.
- Act as a Fire Chief during your duty.
- Be responsible for the hotel’s safety.
- Supervise and inspect the hotel department’s fire preventive works and take proper measures to stop any violation of the fire prevention works.
- Supervise and train technicians and apprentices in the correct performance of their duties and development of skills and knowledge to prepare them for eligibility to high grades.
- Manage working tools and register the team member’s name who retrieved the tools.
- Responsible for recommending disciplinary action in respect of your subordinates.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- The Management reserves the right to change / extend this job description if necessary, at any point of time during her / his employment.
- Minimally a junior college graduate with basic communication skills in English.
- At least 3 years of working experience in the same position or 5 years supervisor experience in a 4-star or above hotel.
- Knowledge of both hotel’s electrical and mechanical knowledge required.
- Familiar with hotel engineering equipment, maintenance and repair.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Strong experience of guestroom repair and maintenance system.
- Knowledge of audio-visual system, lighting system, security monitoring system, background music system, satellite system, telephone system and fire alarm system.
- Strong background of hotel Kitchen, Laundry, Swimming Pool, Pipe and Health Club equipment repair and maintenance.
- Strong fire control knowledge with thorough knowledge of hotel fire / life safety systems and equipment.
