Manager, Global Study Management is accountable for managing a global study management team and to ensure excellent study performance at study level. As line manager of a team, he/she is responsible for building a sustainable capability development framework and developing talents by providing continuously coaching, training and support to team. Also accountable for resource allocation to ensure efficient work of study management.Typical Accountabilities
  • Ensure the quality and timely execution of study delivery.
  • Lead, guide, evaluate and develop the team. Build up the team spirit and contribute to efficient Global Study Management organisation by working closely with Global Study Management head.
  • Accountable for build and retain an efficient team by providing leadership to team member.
  • Develop & nurture team member’s professional capability, be accountable for team member’s career development according to business needs and individual aspiration. Providing necessary career development suggestions and co-design the individual development plans and implement the plans.
  • Ensure team member understand global project priorities and specific project challenges. Ensure delivery of clinical studies to time, budget and quality in accordance with clinical performance targets.
  • Engage and have strong collaboration with internal stakeholders both within and outside of R&D China, to Support/Facilitate/Develop the framework for the project delivery.
  • Work with Study Management Leaders to support Capacity Management, achieving accurate resource allocation, resource forecasting, analysis and solution building to efficiently and flexibly resource study teams.
  • Ensure quality and compliance to External Regulations and AZ Standards, within and across study management locations.
  • Provide expert input into functional and cross-functional global processes, leads dynamic sharing of Study Delivery knowledge, information and best practice.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssential
  • Bachelor degree in biological science or healthcare-related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Clinical Operations or other related fields, including 2 years’ experience in study management.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in people management or at least has people coaching experience in a pharma company or CRO setting.
  • Solid knowledge of clinical drug development.
  • Thorough knowledge of Study Management processes and local regulations
  • Ability to attract, coach and develop talents.
  • Ability to build effective team via prioritizing, driving team engagement and advocating collaboration.
  • Ability to look for and champion more efficient and effective methods/processes of delivering quality clinical trials.
  • Should be a good trainer and prepare training materials.
  • Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills
  • Good learning agility.
  • Manages change with a positive approach to the challenges of change for self, team and the business. Sees change as an opportunity to improve performance and add value to the business
  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global environment
Desirable
  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Have willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Strategic thinking and has foresight capability.
  • Solid TA knowledge is plus.
