- Lead and manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Work hand-in-hand with suppliers to execute on project deliverables while providing clear, timely communication to maintain timelines
- Conduct mechanical design and analysis activities often, including 3D modeling, prototyping, and design for manufacturing/assembly (DFx), to ensure robust and optimized designs
- Collaborate with suppliers and our internal quality engineer to resolve technical issues, implement design changes, and improve manufacturability. Strong knowledge of root cause and corrective action (RCCA), statistical process control (SPC), and Six Sigma is a plus
- Oversee the manufacturing process, coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality products. Identify areas of improvement in cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Manage the sourcing and selection of suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with quality and delivery requirements
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical design and manufacturing
- Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages is a must
- Work autonomously, independently, and possess excellent decision making
- Hands-on experience and strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly
- Proficiency with CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with mechanical design and analysis tools
- Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements
- 5+ years of experience in project engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing, or a related role
- Have the ability to travel 25-50% of the time to our manufacturing partner’s facilities on a short and/or long term basis (up to 2 weeks), sometimes on short notice
- Familiarity with sourcing and supplier management practices, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier performance monitoring
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001, ASME, and ASTM, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
