Mechanical Engineer - Transportation System

• Establish & maintain up-to-date system knowledge and technical trends in regard of technology incl. related technical standards
• Specify and design mechanical systems and their components for HVAC systems for transportation applications (rail/bus/etc.): Review and evaluate customer requirements, transfer into technical specifications, draft design documents; Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
• Discussing and solving of complex problems with production engineering and manufacturing department, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers
• Verification and validation of mechanical designs. Draft test specifications and -reports, perform design qualification (e. g. for shock-/vibration tests) and support customer audits
• Plan and manage the mechanical design part of projects
• Control and monitor project implementation process, interlink proactively with relevant stake-holders to achieve desired targets
• Write design documentation; Draft and design 3D models, drawings, specifications and component lists (BOM);
• Assist in sales negotiation, preparation of sales offer or similar sales activities
• Commissioning and troubleshooting on site. Analyze system issues and propose technical solutions

• Bachelor degree or above
• Major in Technical fields, e.g. Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years working experience, thereof 2-4 years with focus on mechanical design of components for transportation applications (especially railway)
• Good knowledge in mechanical design and usage of tools (3D and 2D design software, such as Pro E, SolidWorks and Auto CAD)
• Good knowledge of relevant production processes e.g. sheet metal processing (punching, bending, etc.) and welding/brazing technology (Copper, Aluminum and stainless steel)
• Good computer skills - Microsoft windows, office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Good communication skills, to be able to work independently and keep team spirit
• Experience of mechanical design in railway applications/HVAC is an asset
• Knowledge about quality- and risk management during concept and design phase is an asset
