Together, we advance your career.THE ROLE:We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead / Senior Systems Thermal Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Thermal Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.THE PERSON:As a Systems Thermal Design Engineer, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems thermal design engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide guidance to Mobile/DT companies thermal design engineering teams in their support of our discrete graphics, CPUs, and chipsets . This includes issue analyzing with our partners and technology training.
  • Review system designs to help get designs into production and work with our OEM customers to ensure their design meets AMD processor requirements.
  • Highly engaged with OEM/ODM customer on mobile system thermal design to optimize the thermal solution and get the best performance.
  • AMD thermal related to feature STT/PMF/ASM implementation on laptop platform.
  • Overseas reviews and training activities when to support customers.
  • Generate policies and procedures to enhance the capabilities of the group.
  • Be external voice of AMD to outside customers
  • On-site support customer to resolve issues.
  • Thermal and acoustic field issue investigation.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • BSEE/MSEE with over 6 years (Sr. Engineer) /10 years (MTS) of Thermal/ Mechanical related experience.
  • Mobile PC or Server thermal module design, debug, and test experience a must.
  • Familiar with thermal simulation tools.
  • Familiar with laptop thermal architecture.
  • Experience with Pro/E and Solid Works is required.
  • Experience with Flotherm, Icepak, or ANSYS is a plus.
  • Good communication skills (Written and Verbal) in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Masters of Mechanical Engineering (or Bachelor Degree in related field of relevant experience).
