We drive the environmental strategy for the entire company and the full sustainability agenda linked to our supply chain. In the Sourcing office in Shenzhen, where you will be based, we currently have five people focusing on sustainability, quality or commercial matters. This is the second dedicated sustainability role in our Shenzhen office and hence you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping it. You will also work closely with the rest of the Environment & Supply Chain Sustainability team at the headquarter in Lund, Sweden, as well as with the Global Sourcing organization.What will you do here as Supplier Sustainability Engineer?As Supplier Sustainability Engineer at Axis, you will play an important role in our efforts to be the industry leader in sustainability. You will work both locally and internationally and have many opportunities travelling abroad. Your main responsibilities include:

Ensure our supplier base in China and adjacent countries fulfill Axis’ Supplier Code of Conduct (which is based on the guidelines set by the Responsible Business Alliance).
Audit our suppliers from sustainability perspective and follow up root cause analyses and corrective actions.
Monitor, develop and educate our suppliers in sustainability matters and Axis’ requirements.
Work together with our commodity teams on risk management and creating supplier strategies.
Drive change activities related to the area of responsibility to ensure that Axis remains at the forefront.
Develop/improve our sustainability management system.

On average you will visit suppliers 2-3 days per week.Who are we looking for?As a person you have:

A university degree in environmental/sustainability management, environmental law, human rights law or similar.
Formal training in ISO14001 and ISO45001, and preferably also in SA8000. Experience in ISO14001 and ISO45001 implementation would be a plus.
5+ years’ experience in a supplier sustainability engineer role or similar in an international company doing supplier audits of environmental management, occupational health and safety, human rights and labour rights.
Experience from working with any of the following frameworks, RBA, Sedex, SMETA.
Ability to lead, train and mentor suppliers on a personal level.
Strong self-motivation and you set and achieve tough personal goals.
Excellent cooperation skills and you contribute to a positive and open working climate across organizational borders and with suppliers.
Excellent communication skills and you are fluent in English and Mandarin, both speaking and writing.
An analytical mindset and you easily switch between attention to detail and strategic thinking.
