Originate, execute and where relevant distribute onshore syndicated or club loans transactions in the China onshore market.
Joint marketing efforts with RMs/GMs
Work jointly with the loans team in HK to originate offshore syndicated or club loan transactions
Establish onshore distribution network with major players.
Handle documentation with internal and external counsels.
Prepare periodic market updates for internal and external stakeholders.
To drive ad hoc projects relating to syndication business
Liaise with FIN China/RMs re timely and correct booking of fees
Handle questions/queries from Audit/Compliance to ensure no material findings
Provide liquidity map for underwriting assessment and recommendation
Handle secondary matters (i.e., identification of potential buyers, transfer certificates/trade confirmations)
Identify China-ASEAN syndication opportunities together with RMs/GMs
Perform other related duties and provide support to the supervisor as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Financial Management, Business Administration, or related fields
Solid foundation in finance and strong financial analysis skills
Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CPA, or ACCA are preferred (not mandatory)
Good English reading and writing skills, capable of proficiently handling credit documents, information memoranda, and external communications in English
Familiar with the entire syndicate loan process, including but not limited to: transaction structure design, preparation of Information Memorandum, syndicate formation and coordination with member banks, credit approval, document negotiation, and disbursement settlement
Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and market practices related to domestic and cross-border loans in China
Strong financial analysis, credit analysis, and risk identification skills
Excellent project management abilities, capable of handling multiple transactions simultaneously
Outstanding communication, coordination, and negotiation skills, able to efficiently liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other office software
5 to 8 years of relevant work experience in banks or financial institutions
Preference given to candidates with one or more of the following experiences: syndicated loans, leveraged loans / merger and acquisition financing, corporate credit or structured financing
Experience in loan capital markets or structured financing at foreign banks or large Chinese banks is highly desirable
Direct involvement in the execution and implementation of multiple syndicated loan transactions
Detail-oriented and rigorous in work, with a strong sense of risk awareness
Strong ability to work under pressure, adaptable to fast-paced, tight-deadline, and high-intensity work environments
Good team spirit while possessing the capability to independently drive projects forward
Sustained interest in continuous learning and research on syndicated loans and the financing market
