- Translate brand strategy into commercially viable product roadmaps and identify category expansion opportunities and market white spaces
- Drive innovation in fabrics, trims and garment construction that aligns with performance and sustainability goals
- Conduct comprehensive competitor and industry trend analysis; stay abreast of global market regulations and industry practices
- Explore and develop core product lines, hero products and brand refresh initiatives to fuel business growth
- Own the end-to-end product development calendar and stage-gate process, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing and Marketing teams to deliver on production timelines and launch plans
- Partner closely with offshore factories and mills to accelerate development timelines and drive operational improvements
- Work with Supply Chain team to manage MOQ, production readiness and scalable manufacturing for new products
- Lead full-cycle sample development with suppliers, including testing, fabric validation, compliance checks and wear testing
- Own product costing and margin management, aligning with Finance to track costs and optimize gross margins
- Develop and enforce standardized sample development processes, and implement PLM system for end-to-end process visibility
- Manage tech packs, product specifications and quality benchmarks; develop innovative packaging solutions for new products
- Oversee all new product development projects from concept to commercial launch, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
- Oversee all product testing (wash, durability, comfort, sustainability compliance) to ensure quality
- Maintain grading across product lines; drive continuous product improvement based on customer feedback and returns data
- Ensure technical excellence in all product development, including zero bulk grading errors and 99%+ BOM accuracy at production handover
- Build and manage high-performing partnerships with offshore manufacturing suppliers; implement monthly supplier performance scorecards
- Drive supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance for development samples and implement corrective action plans for underperforming vendors
- Act as the key cross-functional link between Design, Marketing, Merchandising and Supply Chain to align all teams on product development goals
- 8+ years of proven experience in apparel product development, with a preference for intimate apparel or performance wear background
- Strong technical expertise in fabrics, garment construction, engineering and apparel manufacturing processes
- Extensive experience working with offshore manufacturing partners and managing global supply chain relationships
- Commercially minded with a deep understanding of product costing, margin optimization and price architecture
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent development timelines and deliver on tight deadlines
- Data-driven decision-maker with a strong customer focus and a track record of delivering commercially successful products
- Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end product life cycles and material construction; experience with 3D design software (e.g., CLO) is a plus
- Ability to efficiently allocate seasonal production capacity and ensure product development meets cost, quality and design objectives
- Strong communication and leadership skills to drive cross-functional alignment and supplier accountability
