Who We Are Looking ForState Street Investment Management is looking for a Senior Application Development Manager – Business Automation Platform for our China office, as part of the COO Business and Technology Architecture Services organization.This is a senior technology leadership role focused on building and scaling an enterprise-grade business automation platform that enables end‑to‑end automation of manual and operational processes across Asset Management functions.The ideal candidate combines strong architecture and execution capability, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and a product‑oriented mindset, with deep experience in automation, workflow, RPA, and AI‑enabled solutions. What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of an enterprise Business Automation Platform, enabling workflow, RPA, and AI‑enabled automation.
  • Drive end‑to‑end implementation of automation capabilities from concept to production, ensuring scalability, governance, and risk controls.
  • Apply AI and intelligent automation pragmatically, including agent‑based approaches and human‑in‑the‑loop where appropriate.
  • Partner with business and operations leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high‑value automation initiatives across multiple lines of business.
  • Act as a trusted technology partner to senior managers, clearly communicating priorities, trade‑offs, and delivery plans.
  • Apply a product mindset to platform design, focusing on usability, adoption, and long‑term value.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing engineering team and establish engineering and delivery best practices.

Education & Preferred Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years (Master’s) or 15+ years (Bachelor’s) of experience in Information Technology, preferably within Asset Management or Financial Services.
  • Strong experience in:
  • Workflow automation and orchestration platforms
  • RPA and process automation
  • Enterprise integration and APIs
  • AI / ML applications in business automation scenarios
  • Hands‑on experience with modern application architectures (microservices, cloud‑native, scalable platforms).
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple business lines and regions.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure, complex environment with competing priorities.
