In this strategic leadership role, you'll guide sales strategies and team development while building key customer relationships across our diverse portfolio. Working in a collaborative matrix environment, you'll develop and implement strategic sales plans, forecast and manage budgets, and drive business growth through both direct and channel partnerships. Your leadership will focus on developing and coaching teams, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability targets. - Determines sales forecasting, planning and budgeting processes used within the commercial organization. Proactively monitors and maintains high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the commercial organization’s planning efforts. Coordinates planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the business.
- Ensures achievement of sales, profit, and strategic objectives for the business unit by providing business direction, leadership, coaching and support to management and employees.
- Determines and implements sales metrics and KPIs and ensures metrics are aligned to overall business objectives.
- Develops new strategies, tactics and plans to drive business growth in conjunction with other relevant departments.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for business process improvement. Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
- Maintains relationships with key customers to promote penetration, retention and loyalty.
- Interact and manage relationships with key channels to market to promote the MCS products and services. Ensure BU and business needs are addressed and communicated with Channels in a timely manner.
- Accountable for devising and implementing initiatives to optimize business performance and results across the commercial organization.
- Builds a high performing commercial team through strong coaching and leadership. Ensures timely recognition and reward for top performers and deploy performance management actions when needed.
- Masters Degree plus 12 years of experience in sales/commercial experience in life sciences, analytical instruments, or related industries with minimum 5 years leadership experience
- Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field
- Additional relevant industry certifications valued
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing sales teams to achieve business growth targets
- Strong expertise in sales forecasting, planning, and budget management
- Demonstrated success in strategic account management and customer relationship building
- Excellence in matrix leadership and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience developing and implementing sales metrics, KPIs, and performance management systems
- Strong business acumen with ability to analyze market trends and competitive landscapes
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time
- Deep industry knowledge in relevant market segments (e.g., biopharma, diagnostics, or analytical instruments)
- Experience in developing and executing strategic sales plans and initiatives
- Strong negotiation and influence skills
- Focus on continuous improvement
- Fluency in English required; additional language skills valued
- 10 + years Sales/Commercial/Marketing Experience with minimum 5 years leadership experience from analytical instruments or related industries
- Proven record of managing commercial teams and achieving business growth
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and lead employees to achieve performance objectives.
