- The successful candidate will develop new products for POM & LFT product lines and collaborate with cross functional teams to commercialize these products.
- Work with customer & customer facing team to identify development needs and translate functional requirements to product requirements.
- Use a variety of sources and ideation techniques to develop new technology concepts that enable new product properties as well as applications.
- Develop new product formulations & manufacturing conditions and characterize for mechanical, thermal and other properties.
- Work closely with other R&D teams, commercial, and manufacturing teams to accelerate technology commercialization.
- Promote new products both within Celanese commercial team as well as customers, support strategic translations related to new products.
- Develop and establish intellectual property through filing of patents and documenting trade secrets.
- Ph.D. Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Polymer Science or Engineering/Materials Science.
- 3 years and above experience
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Self-starter, goal-oriented, hands-on individual with drive for solving problems and finding innovative solutions in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of design of experiments.
- Works safely in the laboratory or plant setting.
- Strong background in material science, especially on polymer structure-property relationships and polymer blends.
- Working knowledge of polymer processing including compounding and injection molding
- Working knowledge of analytical characterization techniques for rheological, mechanical, thermal properties.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills required to develop detailed project timelines with key milestones and deliverables.
- Work well in team environment and possess the interpersonal and communication skills needed to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive project from lab-to-commercial scale.
