Job PurposeThe Operational Purchasing Manager within the site Procurement function of Straumann group supports the implementation of the global category strategy for selected categories by executing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating and driving supplier relationship management (portfolio may include purchased/outsourced materials, goods, and/or services). The operational purchasing manager works on sourcing projects. He/she has an overall responsibility with respect to quality, cost, delivery, service and regulatory compliance of purchased/outsourced , supporting the different functions based in the site and some corporate functions of Straumann group.Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Purchase materials, goods, and services for the China Campus production site. Execute operational and tactical procurement activities in accordance with the global category strategy, and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulatory standards, applicable laws, ethical standards, and code of business conduct.
  • Ensure efficient and proper execution of Requests for Quotation and creation of Purchase Orders. Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, process improvements and track achieved results.
  • Manage daily requirements and understand future demands of the different operational functions: perform duties to ensure appropriate service level to end users, communicate with requisitioners and suppliers to clarify operational issues, act as the first point of contact for internal and external claim management.
  • Execute category strategy when defined by Global category teams. Identify savings opportunities for categories not under the control of the Global category teams.
  • Maintain ERP systems to ensure continuous support of the material and service requirements and accuracy of data (master data, vendor master, source list).
  • Drive sourcing activities and support local RFP events for the procurement of materials, good or/and services in alignment with the global category strategy for targeted assigned categories.
  • Effectively engage with key stakeholders in the organization (Supply Chain, Operations Planning, R&D, Marketing, etc…) to understand business and innovation plans to be able to optimize the spend on selected categories while supporting innovation.
  • Partner and build relationships with cross functional teams (R&D, Quality and Regulation, Logistics, Manufacturing, Marketing) to develop and deliver sourcing initiatives leading to cost savings.
  • Manage supplier performance. Define and execute a yearly communication plan with critical / strategic suppliers.
Profile
  • Preferred eduction: Bachelor, academic degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Economics
  • Professional certification: CIPS or CPSM desired
  • Langages: English (excellent written and spoken), Others – fluency in at least one additional language is advantageous (e.g. German, French, Portuguese, Chinese)
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years in P2P process execution
  • Minimum 3 years in strategic procurement role (in a category management environment - preferred) with exposure to global supply chain management, complex strategic sourcing in a global matrix environment, optimal procurement processes and standards
  • Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams, with requisite with requisite drive and energy to be successful in delivering a challenging transformation agenda
