Company:Qualcomm China## Job Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Hardware Applications EngineeringGeneral Summary:Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Principle/Senior ASIC Design support Manager to lead end-to-end ASIC/SoC design outsourcing projects. You will be responsible for managing cross-functional, multi-site engineering teams, driving project delivery on schedule, within budget and to client specifications. You will serve as the primary technical and commercial interface between our company and external customers, ensuring clear communication, risk control, quality delivery and high customer satisfaction throughout the outsourcing project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities1\. Project Leadership & Full-Lifecycle Management\- Lead full-flow ASIC/SoC design outsourcing projects from proposal, kick-off, architecture, RTL, verification, DFT, backend implementation, tape-out to post-silicon validation and delivery.\- Develop detailed project plans, milestones, resource plans, schedules, budgets and risk management plans.\- Monitor daily project progress, track deliverables, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time tape-out and delivery.2\. Customer & Stakeholder Management\- Act as the main point of contact for customer project management, including daily communication, requirement review, progress reporting, change management and issue escalation.\- Conduct regular project reviews with clients, align expectations, manage scope changes and maintain strong long-term customer relationships.\- Collaborate with sales, pre-sales and technical teams to support project bidding, SOW definition and quotation.3\. Team & Resource Management\- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including architecture, RTL design, verification, DFT, physical design (backend), analog/mixed-signal, CAD and test engineering.\- Allocate and optimize internal and external engineering resources across multiple projects.\- Support team performance management, skill development and cross-team collaboration.4\. Risk & Quality Control\- Identify, assess and mitigate technical, schedule and resource risks in ASIC design outsourcing projects.\- Establish and enforce project quality standards, review gates, deliverable checklists and compliance processes.\- Ensure design quality, IP reusability, documentation completeness and compliance with customer and industry standards.5\. Process & Business Improvement\- Continuously optimize ASIC design outsourcing project management processes, tools and workflows.\- Drive improvement in delivery efficiency, cost control and customer satisfaction.\- Summarize project lessons learned and build internal best practices and asset libraries.Required Qualifications & Skills1\. Education\- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering or related field.2\. Professional Experience\- Minimum 5+ years of working experience as a Project Manager in ASIC/SoC/FPGA design, with at least 3+ years in ASIC design outsourcing services.\- Successful track record of leading end-to-end ASIC tape-out projects from spec to mass production.\- Experience in managing multi-site, remote or offshore outsourcing projects is strongly preferred.3\. Technical Knowledge\- Deep understanding of full ASIC design flow: architecture, RTL coding, simulation, UVM verification, CDC, SDC, DFT, ATPG, floorplan, PnR, STA, physical verification, DRC/LVS, tape-out and post-silicon bring-up.\- Familiar with mainstream EDA tools, process nodes (7nm/12nm/14nm/28nm/40nm/55nm etc.), IP integration and foundry manufacturing flows.\- Ability to understand technical issues, communicate with engineering teams and support technical risk analysis.4\. Project Management Skills\- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope control and budget management.5\. Soft Skills\- Excellent client communication, presentation and negotiation skills in English (written & spoken).\- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.\- High sense of responsibility, result-oriented, able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects in parallel.Preferred Qualifications\- Experience in AI/ML accelerator, CPU/GPU, automotive, high-performance computing (HPC) or communication ASIC projects.\- Familiarity with IP licensing, fabless semiconductor business and outsourcing service models.\- Experience managing international customers or global distributed teams.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
OR
