Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.As a Buyer for Motion Business Area in Shanghai, China, you will be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory including sales in excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Supporting internal customer service inquiries. Setting inventory parameters, inventory targets, and ensure adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.Your responsibilities
  • Segmenting the portfolio of materials through an ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy. Defines inventory policies according to this segmentation
  • Calculating and maintaining in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time, and replenishment strategies
  • Collaborating with Buyers for obtaining the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, MOQ, quality, lead-time, and flexibility
  • Working with Operations Buyers and SCM to align planning of material with call offs and ensuring that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders
  • Managing MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis. Supports cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting. Conducting financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, conducts root case analysis when necessary
  • Analysing excess and obsolete/aging inventory. Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with sales, marketing, manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics
  • Being responsible for releasing available purchase order & production order, ensuring timely following up and on-time fulfilling, Responsible for timely disposing abnormal material
  • Providing report regarding supplier delivery performance summary and escalate problem with root cause analysis when there is supply chain risk and participate in supplier performance review and supply chain process development for improvement purpose
Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in mathematics and statistics
  • At least 5 years material planning experience in a large foreign company (fortune 500 company preferred)
  • Familiar with ABC/XYZ analysis method, familiar with VMI, consignment business process and data model
  • Teamwork spirit and good communication & coordination skills
  • Good command of computer, be proficient using SAP(SAP key user preferred), Motor industry experience is preferred
  • Fluent in English communication(written& oral)
  • Adapt to high pressure and short-term travel
