Reports to: Director of Product & Program Management (U.S. HQ)Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Product Development Lead based in China to lead the development of premium consumer electronics accessories. This role is critical in bridging execution between our U.S.-based team and suppliers in Asia. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, technical depth, and a proven track record of taking products from concept to production in close collaboration with suppliers and remote teams.What you will be doing: * Supplier & U.S. Team Collaboration

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on product development experience in consumer electronics accessories.
- Strong experience managing suppliers across multiple development cycles, preferably with exposure to tooling, PCBA, assembly, and component sourcing.
- Background with hubs & adapters and/or keyboards is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical design, DFM principles, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience working across mechanical and electrical development phases, from prototyping to pre-production builds.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in English (both written and spoken).
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, drive results, and manage complexity in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel frequently within China and occasionally to Southeast Asia.
- Conduct frequent onsite visits to suppliers and factories across China and Southeast Asia.
- Represent the company’s brand expectations and development standards in every supplier engagement.
- Recommend improvements to shorten development cycles, reduce cost, and enhance product quality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project status, technical issues, and supplier feedback.
- Provide regular progress updates and flag risks to the U.S. team with recommended solutions.
- Lead comprehensive mechanical and electrical evaluations, including prototyping, design reviews, and functional testing.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges related to design, materials, tolerances, and electronics.
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and production ramp-up with a focus on performance, durability, and aesthetics.
- Coordinate effectively with remote stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication at each development stage.
- Track and manage project schedules and tasks from EVT to PVT, ensuring readiness for mass production.
- Be a proactive driver of product development, working closely with Asian suppliers and the U.S.-based Product, Industrial Design, and Program Management teams.
- Translate product requirements and design intent into actionable development plans with suppliers.
- Ensure feasibility, cost, and quality targets are aligned across regions, and hold suppliers accountable to project milestones.
