Stirling College, Chengdu University is looking for Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and Associate Lecturers in Digital Media to deliver modules on its BA (Hons) Digital Media programme.We are a collaborative partnership between the University of Stirling and Chengdu University founded in 2021, with a supportive, collegial environment, rigorous adherence to the University of Stirling's academic standards, an emphasis on student-centred learning for our students, and professional development opportunities for our staff. Kindly note that, as a teaching-based programme, we do not have research funding to offer at the moment. However, staff are encouraged to engage in research in their own free time. There is no compromise on teaching quality, and staff are expected to maintain high standards in their teaching and student engagement.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in contextualising University of Stirling modules for delivery in China, selecting and developing appropriate learning materials and activities that reflect the contemporary digital media environment in China and incorporating these into the programme, and in some instances developing material for completely new modules.The BA (Hons) Digital Media award covers a range of areas in which students will develop skills to be creative and productive in the digital era, along with an understanding of the ethical, legal and theoretical dimensions of the subject, including:

Digital storytelling
Digital Media & Culture
Social media marketing, advertising, and experiential marketing
Understanding audiences
Creative industries
Magazine Journalism
TV & Film Production
Animation & Visual Arts
Research methods in media and culture
Sport media & production

Key Responsibilities:

Teach up to twenty class periods per week (Monday to Friday) and be available in the staff office for at least six class periods per week for student consultation.
Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centred classes, including compiling relevant teaching materials.
Develop, invigilate, mark, and second-mark assessments within agreed deadlines.
Supervise final-year projects and act as an academic advisor for assigned students.
Participate in staff development, including completing a staff development plan, attending training, and engaging in peer observations.
Take part in staff appraisals and contribute to programme marketing if requested.
Attend team meetings and fulfil administrative responsibilities as outlined in the staff handbook.
Ensure all duties are performed to the highest standard and within agreed timeline.

Please note candidates need to be adaptable and actively participate in college activities, recognising that education is ever-evolving. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Requirements:The successful candidate will normally demonstrate the following characteristics:

For Senior Lecturer Positions - Candidates should have a PhD degree in a relevant subject area with significant teaching experience.
For Lecturer Positions - Should have a PhD degree or towards the completion of it.
For Associate Lecturer Positions - Candidates must have Masters degree in a relevant subject area and industry experiences
At least 2 years of Higher Education teaching experience
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons in English
Student-focused approach to teaching
Effective at using assessment for and of learning
Relevant industry experience
Ability to contextualise learning for a Chinese context.
It is desirable for candidates to have experience of teaching in a UK/International Higher Education Institution.
It is desirable for candidates to have a dedicated teaching qualification.
Non-native English-speaking candidates would normally have an IELTS 7.5 or equivalent.
