Want - Define external growth strategy:You will provide unbiased insights on new technologies, industry trends and market intelligence to support strategic planning.As part of the squad teams, you will provide expertise and thought leadership to proactively generate strategic opportunities (areas/segments) that contribute to Roche Diagnostics' strategy.You will understand customer needs and market situations to ensure technology opportunities align with Roche Diagnostics` Strategy.You will co-create with internal stakeholders strategic partnering WANTs and Target Product Profiles (TPP) in line with Roche Diagnostics` Strategy.Find - Identify and prioritise external partnership options:You will network extensively with scientific and industry experts from companies, banks, VCs, and academic institutions within and beyond the diagnostics division, with a "One Roche" mindset to create future opportunities.You will be responsible for leading assessment and landscape projects for innovative technologies and solutions to achieve business value for Roche Diagnostics.Collaborate closely with the Technology & Science Chapter and business stakeholders to identify suitable technologies, products, digital solutions, and companies.To select the most appropriate deal structures, evaluate potential external partnerships, considering strategic, financial and feasibility parameters.Get & Create - Agree on partnership structure with external partnerYou will coordinates technology assessments with project teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of recommendations, action plans, and company contacts.You will prepare objective, sound, and well-prepared recommendations regarding specific business partnerships to senior management and respective governance bodies.You will be responsible for leading the preparation, structuring, and negotiation of new business partnerships and transaction agreements. These agreements can cover all transaction types, including M&A, licensing, R&D, and commercial collaboration agreements.Manage - Ensure transition to internal stakeholders to allow for effective implementation:You will mmoothly transition business relationships to the Partnering Alliances & Ecosystem Management chapter after executing a partnership or transactionYou will:To the external parties, you will be a skilful ambassador for Roche Diagnostics to make Roche a partner of choice.Are committed to cross-functional collaboration and breaking down silos to achieve the best results for the organisationHave the ability to navigate within a changing organisation, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus-building skillHave a growth mindset of continuous learning and coaching & mentoring peers.What else do you have in your toolbox:Advanced degree in science, engineering, business or a related field, ideally at a PhD or MBA levelExperience in the diagnostic, med device, biotech or pharma industry is required, including a general understanding of the Diagnostics industry, lifecycle & development process and global trends.Experience or background in business or corporate development, strategy consulting, venture capital, investment banking, or related fields is required.Broad knowledge and track record, ideally across various types of business partnerships and/ or transactions, including M&A, Licensing, R&D, Commercial Collaboration agreementsStrong analytical and conceptual problem-solving skillsOwnership mentality, comfortable executing on multiple projects independently and in collaboration with others.Strong planning and organizational skills including a track record of managing high-performing cross-functional teams/squads.Knowledge of accounting, finance & financial modellingExceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to distil problems/ proposals into clear and concise mgmt/governance bodies' decision documentsAbility to build sustainable relationships with internal/external stakeholders through trust and collaboration.History of sourcing new deal opportunities and evaluating build versus buy decisions.Previous experience in Partnership Management with an existing network preferred,Cross-country, regional, and global experience is desirable.Fluency in English and another language within regional responsible markets, such as MandarinWho we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
