The Managing Director of China role is a vital leadership position within the Commercial Machinery sector, focusing on overseeing sales operations and driving business growth. Based in Zhongshan, China this role requires strategic vision and operational expertise to ensure successful expansion in the Chinese market.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive growth in the Chinese market.
  • Overall leadership of Sales & Service for our Chinese market organisation, including full staff, P&L and budgetary responsibility as well as ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with your fellow Managing Director for Technology as well as with the central functions of the Group and the Group Executive Management.
  • Meet revenue and profit targets and continue to strengthen and expand our position in existing customer and market segments while increasing market share.
  • Develop new market segments and sales channels for long-term success.
  • Make ongoing improvements to sales and service processes.
  • Translate the Group strategy into a regional Sales & Service strategy with all its associated processes, defining the necessary measures and ensuring their implementation.
  • Foster the targeted development of your employees, including HR development for the area of the organisation
  • within your remit.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the industrial/manufacturing sector.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities and risks.
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Report regularly on financial performance, operational metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on both short- and long-term objectives.

  • Over 10 years Domestic working experience in International Corporations, German company background highly preferred.
  • A strong track record in a comparable senior role covering sales, customer service and administration.
  • A strongly sales-driven personality with a clear customer and service focus.
  • Ideally, a thorough knowledge of the industry and an established professional network.
  • A passion for success, for managing people, and for helping them realise their full potential.
  • Already living within easy reach of the company's premises, or willing to relocate your domicile / principal place of residence there in the future.
  • Willing to move in the area of Zhongshan or commute to Zhongshan.
  • Proven leadership experience in the industrial/manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies and market dynamics in China.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational management principles.
  • Excellent Chinese and English; other languages an advantage.
