We are looking for an English Teacher for an international middle school based in Suzhou. This position is available for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year starting in August 2026.About the schoolThis middle school in Suzhou is the first and only international middle school in partnership with America to be recognized and approved by the provincial Ministry of Education. The school's curriculum is student-centered, preparing them for top universities by emphasizing critical thinking, English proficiency, and a combination of Chinese and American educational practices.About the roleYou will join a programme delivered in Chinese schools with academic support from British schools. After training, you will teach 12 to 15-year-old students in Chinese mainstream secondary schools using Cambridge textbooks and a range of teaching materials. Classes are co-taught by English and Chinese teachers, so close cooperation with Chinese co-teachers and strong communication skills are essential.
  • You will be expected to design and closely follow lesson plans, teaching objectives, and the syllabus together with your co-teachers.
  • Lessons should be fully prepared and reviewed in advance in cooperation with your co-teachers to ensure effective delivery in class.
  • Daily communication with co-teachers is essential, along with weekly and monthly meetings to maintain continuity in teaching content and pacing.
  • You will also be responsible for organising and participating in extracurricular activities, such as a weekly English Club and at least two English VIP lessons each week.
  • In addition, you will grade students' assignments and follow up with students and parents when necessary.
  • You should interact with both students and parents in a way that is educational, engaging, and enjoyable in the classroom.
  • You will also be required to take part in training sessions and assessments organised by senior teachers and the school.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above in the subject you apply for or a related subject
  • Over two years of full-time teaching in the applied subject or a related subject
  • Teaching License is a plus
  • Experience with IELTS, TOEFL, IB, and AP programs is a plus
  • Classroom management and professional teaching skills
Salary and benefits
  • Monthly salary is 20,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
