We are looking for a Social Studies Teacher for an international High School based in Chengdu. This is a position is available from the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year in August 2026.About the schoolSituated in Chengdu, this esteemed international high school specializes in providing exceptional education for students in grades 9 to 12. With its extensive facilities, the school offers dormitories capable of accommodating approximately 300 students. Committed to academic excellence, the school provides a curriculum based on the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for grades 9 to 10, and equips students in grades 11 to 12 with Advanced Placement (AP) and A-Level courses to further enhance their educational journey.Job responsibilities

Teach social studies subjects including literature, history, geography to secondary school students ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience
Design, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to suit the individual needs of all students

Co-teach with teachers and be prepared to develop and improve school-based curriculum
Assess and monitor student progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve
Collaborate with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge
Contribute to extra-curricular activities program and participate in school activities such as assemblies, festivals, conferences

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above
More than 3 years ESL teaching experience
TESOL, TEFL, PGCE certification
Proficient in English listening and speaking
