- Curriculum Development & Implementation: Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive science curriculum that is engaging, challenging, and appropriate for middle and high school students. Ensure the curriculum meets international standards and prepares students for higher education and careers in science.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, inspire, and manage the Science Department, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Provide professional development opportunities, mentorship, and guidance to science teachers.
- Innovation in Science Education: Stay abreast of the latest developments in science education and integrate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and resources into the curriculum.
- Student Achievement & Assessment: Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in science. Implement strategies to support students who are struggling and challenge those who are excelling.
- Community Engagement & Partnerships: Build partnerships with external organizations, universities, and research institutions to enhance the science program. Promote science education within the school community and beyond.
- Resource Management: Manage the departments resources effectively, including budgeting, procurement of materials and equipment, and maintenance of science laboratories.
- A Masters degree in Science Education, Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in middle and/or high school science, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Recognised National/State teaching qualification/license NOT TEFL/TESOL
- Excellent knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in science education.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Experience in an international educational environment is highly desirable.
